Delete your Grofomo account and data
You can request deletion of your Grofomo account and the data associated with it at any time. Two paths, depending on whether you still have the app installed:
Option 1 – In the app
Open Grofomo → Settings → Sign out and delete account. This deletes:
- Your nickname, avatar choice, and any account-linked identifiers.
- Your friends list and pending friend invites.
- Server-side favourites + reminders for your device.
- Your push notification token.
Local state on the device (cached event data) is cleared on the next app launch. Uninstalling the app removes any remaining local data.
Option 2 – Email request
If you no longer have the app installed, or you’d prefer to request deletion by email, send a message to privacy@grofomo.com with the subject line “Grofomo account & data deletion request”.
To help us locate your record, include one or both of:
- Device identifier – a UUID visible at the bottom of the in-app Settings screen, if you can still open the app.
- Email address – only if you signed in via magic link.
If you don’t have either, email us anyway describing the events you’ve interacted with and the approximate dates you used the app, and we’ll do our best to locate your record.
Open email to request deletion
What gets deleted
- Your attendee device record on our servers (UUID, push token, locale, app version, last-seen timestamp).
- Your nickname and avatar override (if set).
- Your linked email address (if you signed in via magic link), and your Supabase auth user record.
- Your event favourites and notification preferences.
- Friends list entries naming you, and any friend invites you issued.
- Your personal details (name, email, phone) on past ticket purchases. These are anonymised on the organiser’s records, so the sale stays on their books without identifying you.
What does NOT get deleted
- Aggregate anonymous analytics (event-page view counts, etc.) that no longer identify you after the deletion.
- Records we are required to retain for legal compliance (e.g. records of any payment we processed via a partner provider – not applicable to most users).
- Crash logs older than 30 days that have been anonymised.
- Tickets for events that have not yet taken place, and the name and email the organiser needs to admit you to them. These remain until after the event, then your details are removed by routine cleanup.
- A de-identified record of your past purchases (order totals, dates, and tickets bought, with your personal details removed), which organisers keep for accounting and legal obligations.
If you have an artist profile
An artist profile on Grofomo is separate from an attendee account, and deleting one does not delete the other. An owner of the act can delete its profile from the artist portal at artists.grofomo.com: open the act, go to Profile, and use Delete profile in the Danger Zone, typing the name of the act to confirm. That removes the act from the platform along with its press kit media, links, and everyone’s access to it.
Two things to know before you do it. Each organiser that booked you keeps its own record of you in its own account, so you may still appear on the lineups and event pages of events you were billed on; ask that organiser to remove their copy. And deleting the profile removes the payout account link with it, so any money that has accrued to you but has not yet been paid can no longer be paid. Make sure you have been paid everything you are owed first.
To delete the sign-in account itself, or if you are not the owner, email privacy@grofomo.com. Your rights over your artist data, and what deletion does and does not reach, are set out in the Artist Terms and our Privacy Policy.
How long it takes
We acknowledge deletion requests within 3 business days and complete deletion within 30 days. Backups containing your data are overwritten on our standard backup rotation – within 60 days for all systems.
